Extramural Experience

Business, Titan Debate Camp

To combat the lack of resources and coaching for young debaters in Johns Creek, I started the Titan Debate Camp to host debate workshops in 2018. In each camp, I work with students on basic debate and speech-giving skills, public speaking, argument refinement, and research development. With attendees from 5 states in each one, I've hosted 5 campus thus far. I have even worked with a student to establish a debate team at their school. Additionally, I speak at schools without debate programs to encourage the establishment of a team and emphasize the importance of argumentation and public speaking skills. Faced with the pandemic, I virtualized all business operations and the TDC is still running strong!

Private Policy Debate  Coach

As I continue my personal growth in my debate career, I have been hired by several debaters and have privately coached 9 students throughout high school. For the past year, I’ve worked with 5 students continuously, putting in about 2 hours of coaching per student per week. I have developed a curriculum of resources for each student including files of research, PowerPoint lessons, guided notes, informational videos, and debate drills. Each of my students has gone from extremely minimum debate experience to competing at the national-level in an accelerated time span. Oftentimes, I coach my students at their tournaments while simultaneously competing at mine and learned to juggle competing in national  Varsity Policy Debate tournaments whilst coaching students around the country concurrently.

Georgia State Director,  STEM Garden

I worked as the state director for Georgia in an international nonprofit organization focused on distributing resources related to STEM education. As state director, I assisted in the management of over 100 members and more than 50 tutors around the world. I also helped with curriculum development, event organization, member and tutee management, and created content for a STEM blog.

Intern, Center for Rare Neurological Diseases

I interned at a center, both a clinic and a research facility, focused on rare neurological diseases. I assisted in the main office with data entry and organization, sat in on patient meetings, worked alongside the doctor in his practice, observed research, and met with several patients to learn about various neurological problems. Though I no longer want to pursue medicine as a career path, I am thankful for the enriching experience this internship provided.

Intern, CHAMPS Analytics

I interned for a business analytics company based in Johns Creek, Georgia, virtually throughout the summer of 2020. I assisted with making email campaigns, sat in on weekly team strategy meetings, worked closely with the company's global marketing director, assisted in the development of a webinar, and learned about business analysis technology. My work was focused on the enrichment and franchisement of Qlik BI.

Tutor, Inspiring Together

Through this nonprofit organization, I tutored several foster children in Georgia through online classes during the pandemic. I worked to create strong emotional bonds with my students and mitigate any additional scholastic stress they had during the time.
