Intramural Leadership
Captain, Policy Debate Team
I've been a member of the debate team since freshman year and the captain since junior year. During my time on the team, member participation increased almost tenfold and we traveled around the country to compete at tournaments for the first time in Northview history. As captain, I assisted in member recruitment, organization during tournaments and travel, and participated in efforts to establish the team presence on both the local and national levels. During the pandemic, I taught virtual debate lessons to younger members.
I recently qualified for the All-American Honor from the National Speech and Debate Association. With about 800 points and counting, I am currently ranked #2 in Georgia according to NSDA's ranking system.
President, Science National Honor Society
I've been a member of the Science National Honor Society since my sophomore year and the president since junior year. During my time on the leadership board, member numbers tripled and I made a YouTube channel for the distribution of science-related education material. I am currently working on making a blog for the club, reaching out to local guest speakers to present at meetings, finding new service opportunities for members, and growing the club's presence in the school.
President, National English Honor Society
I've been a member of the National English Honor Society since my junior year and became the president for my senior year. As one of four members on the board, I assist with service opportunity development and club organization. I am currently working on obtaining a license for and organizing a TedxNorthview event (to take place in Spring, 2021).
President, Société Honoraire de Français
I've been studying French language and culture since the 7th grade and use Société Honoraire de Français as an avenue to further explore the francophone diaspora and it's traditions. As president, I work to organize chapter meetings, plan attendance at national competitions, contact guest speakers, and work to spread an appreciation for French culture.
President, Side-by-Side Tutoring Club
I've been a member of the SBS Club since freshman year; I was the public relations officer in my sophomore year and I have been the president since my junior year. This club focuses on enriching the Northview community through connecting high school tutees with tutors. In addition to tutoring student, I work to connect both high school and elementary school students with tutors from Northview.
